Prominent Shrewsbury town centre retail premises in Wyle Cop have been sold.

Towler Shaw Roberts has completed the sale of the Grade II Listed property to local developers.

Offers in the region of £150,000 had been invited for the building at 40 Wyle Cop, which had previously been home to The Private Shop for many years.

Extending to 1,376 sq ft, the premises feature a ground floor retail shop and spacious storage facilities on the upper floors, which offer scope for conversion, subject to planning.

Toby Shaw, who handled the sale for TSR, said: “It’s an attractive building and with its excellent location fronting Wyle Cop, it stimulated a good level of interest.

“The property is in need of some refurbishment but provides tremendous scope for conversion of the first and second floors, subject to planning permission.

“In addition, the premises boasts a large glazed frontage and enclosed courtyard, and we are pleased to have completed a sale to local developers.”
