A local investor has acquired a substantial three-storey period building in Newport’s High Street.

The attractive double fronted premises at 76-78 and 80 High Street stimulated much interest when brought to the market by Towler Shaw Roberts.

The property occupies a prime location within the centre of Newport and comprises a ground floor retail/office unit currently let and occupied by the Wrekin Housing Trust, with the upper two floors converted as HMO residential accommodation.

Toby Shaw, who handled the sale for TSR, said: “The property, which occupies a prominent town centre location, produced a good level of interest after going on the market, with a sale quickly agreed with a local investor. The investment market continues to remain very buoyant which is illustrated by the strong interest received for this property with a number of offers submitted.”

Offers in the region of £350,000 were invited for the freehold interest, with the benefit of the existing tenancies.
