It’s been a successful season on the football pitch for Josh Hyde, an apprentice surveyor for Towler Shaw Roberts, with his team completing an impressive league and cup double.

Josh, a talented goalkeeper, has enjoyed a consistent campaign between the posts for Shrewsbury Up and Comers.

He’s helped them win the Salop Leisure League title – a league for Shropshire clubs – and was in the side which lifted the Tony Bywater Cup in front of a big crowd at Shrewsbury Town’s Croud Meadow stadium earlier this week.

Josh and his Up and Comers team mates were 2-1 winners in an exciting final against Church Stretton Town.

“It’s been a successful season for Up and Comers,” said Josh, who has also played for Newtown, Market Drayton Town and Whitchurch Alport.

“I hadn’t played at the Croud Meadow before and it was very nice to play on a good surface. There was just shy of 1,400 fans there, which for local football is good going.

“We were leading 2-0 and Church Stretton scored in the 92nd minute. There was seven minutes of added time, so it was a tense last five minutes.”

His colleagues in TSR’s Shrewsbury office were delighted to hear of Josh’s latest football success.

“They all asked how I had got on the following morning, especially Toby Shaw – it was the first question he asked,” added Josh.
