The Wolverhampton Office was originally part of the Walker Barnett & Hill Practice which was established in 1780, making it the oldest firm of Valuers, Surveyors and Estate Agents in the Wolverhampton area.
General Accident acquired the Practice in 1987 and subsequently the commercial property division operated under the banner of Keith Cardale Groves, another long-standing business which had been similarly acquired by GA.
With effect from 1 July 1996 Ian Roberts, the local Director and a former Associate Partner of Walker Barnett & Hill, acquired the Wolverhampton office in a management buyout. At the same time the Wolverhampton office merged with the existing independent Practice of Towler Shaw, based in Shrewsbury and being a similar sized operation.

IAN ROBERTS, MRICS IRRV, Partner Ian, who qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1986, has been in private practice since 1979 and is qualified both MRICS and IRRV. He specialises in commercial/industrial property and associated professional work and has done so since 1986 when he held the position of an Associate Partner of Walker Barnett & Hill. He was subsequently appointed an Area Director of GA Property Services (Commercial Division) and a Director of Cardales. He is currently the Partner responsible for the Towler Shaw Roberts Wolverhampton Office. |

ALAN JACQUES, MNAEA, Surveyor Alan joined the Company in November 2001, but is no stranger to either Wolverhampton or Walker Barnett and Hill, having started his business career with them from school in the early 1960's. He has since then had considerable experience in all aspects of commercial and industrial property throughout the Black Country and West Midlands. Following a period as Property Manager with Birmingham based Richardson Developments, well known for their development of both the Merry Hill Shopping Centre and Telford Plaza office complex, further valuable experience was gained as Midlands based Land Manager with Halifax Property Services. Alan has an intimate knowledge of the Wolverhampton area and specialises in office, industrial agency and property management. |

PHILIP PLANT, FRICS, Consultant Surveyor Philip started his professional career in Wolverhampton with J. V. Boswell (later to became Walker Barnett & Hill), followed by The District Valuers Office before spending ten years in London latterley before Knight Frank. Since his return to Wolverhampton he has been in general practice on his own account under the style of Bussey Plant Commercial, before merging with TSR in November 2006. |

IAIN MILLS, BSc (Hons), Surveyor Iain is based at Towler Shaw Roberts' Wolverhampton office and is the Assistant Surveyor working in conjunction with Ian Roberts and Alan Jacques. Iain is principally involved with Commercial Agency Work, specialising in retail, but is also assisting with the Valuation and Asset Management Departments. |
